Assistant Minister |
Hi I'm Mike Russell the Assistant Minister at St.George's Magill.
I am married to Ally with four kids Luke, Adele, Anna and Phoebe.
Ally likes coffee, Luke likes soccer, Adele likes shoes, and the twins like 'In the Night Garden' - a kids' show.
I like watching most sport, reading the paper, wrestling with my son, Subway, playing touch football, playing the 'AFL Dream Team' game, and explaining Jesus to people.
I dislike olives, gardening and ironing.
For relaxation I like to watch a movie or TV show with Ally, reading and thinking about politics and finance.
My favourite 'head' verse is Luke 24:44-47 because it's the best summary of what the Old Testament says about Jesus.
My favourite 'heart' verse is Philippians 3:12-14 because it encourages me to strive forward forgetting my sin which is behind me- which is significant!

Phil Zamagias
Hello, my name is Phil Zamagias and I am the ‘Sunday Assistant Minister’ at St George’s.
I am married to Leeanne and we have two sons, Tim (23) and Alex (19). We have spent most of the past 23 years involved in ministry to indigenous people and have lived in the Northern Territory for most of that time.
I like to preach, teach the Bible, lead Sunday services, the men’s ministry group and anything else that can help build up the body of Christ. The Bible verse that speaks deeply to me is Psalm 139:16 ‘Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be’.
My ‘day job’ is with the Bible Society where I oversee ministry to indigenous people across Australia which involves Bible translation and the production of Bible resources to help them understand the message of God in Christ Jesus.
My other interests are aviation (I hold an Air Transport Pilot Licence), fast cars (I have been a Motor Racing Chaplain and hold a racing drivers’ licence) and I am a serious U2 fan (I have been to Bono’s home in Dublin).

Our fearless Office Administrator and Paul
|
Rosanna is the friendly face who is in the front office
every morning, greeting everyone with a smile and able to help with
even the most difficult questions! After working in the clothing industry
for over 15 years, she is pleased to have had the opportunity to put
into practice the skills she has learnt through various courses of
study and the continued learning she has experienced through her role
as administrator of the church office.

Youth Minister
Lochy is a self professed “artsy nerd”. Having originally trained as a web designer, Lochy went on to do a masters in creative writing (he’s written a novel, but it’s not published yet) and then committed career suicide by doing a two year traineeship in christian youth ministry. He’s now gone on to study part time at bible college for two years. When asked why, he said he likes tough questions.
Lochy grew up in the church and on beach missions, surrounded by christians. But it wasn’t till he was about 18 that he discovered God was someone you could know - not just know about.
In his spare time, Lochy likes writing fiction,
talking with friends till 3am, acting, singing at mildly inappropriate times, and various weird hobbies with odd acronym names like “LAN”, “RPG”, and “40K”.

Hi, I’m Libby and I am the Friday Night Kids Club Coordinator at St George’s. It’s on every Friday night during school term for 5-11 year olds starting February 11 at 5.30pm.
For the last nine years I’ve worked as a Family Services Coordinator for Novita Children’s Services with families who have children with disability. I’ll be finishing this role to become a fulltime Education student at Tabor Adelaide so I can become a primary school teacher one day. I’m looking forward to sharing the love of Jesus with our local children and their families.
Libby fellowships at Holy Trinity Anglican Church where for the last four years she has been a part of the Children’s Ministry. You will see her from time to time popping her head in at St George’s.
In her spare time, Libby enjoys catching up with her friends and kickboxing classes. You may find her interspersing her weekly lectures searching for the perfect cuppa near uni! |
